Norwegian Wood

I am busy packing up this dyptich of a bleak Norwegian scene. Its off to its new home in London where I hope it will look lovely on its new owners wall. This is the first of a series of paintings that I have planned looking at the way trees dissect the view, break the boundries of a paintings 'edges', and the way buildings, seen through trees, can add to the structural interest of a composition.

Its very close to my heart this painting as it was conceived, initially, as an emotional response to the deaths of 69 young people on the Norwegian island of Utoya in 2011.
