Journey - The Exhibition
Well, after months of preperation and hard work by 4 members of ARTStorm, Linda Sale, Sarah Goy, Lisa Lewis and myself the exhibition at the Lighthouse is finally up and running.
It seemed like a Herculian task when we first mooted the idea of hiring the space, as it is huge. The Top Floor Gallery is 40 meters long and there is also a Mezzanine Gallery on the big staircase.
But it has come together and is now on so if you find yourself in Poole over the next few weeks treat yourself to a peaceful half an hour wondering around the wonderful artwork produced specially for the show.
Linda Sale creates wonderful work starting from a life drawing base and taking the image into the realms of abstract landscape using colour beautifully, including gold leaf which lifts her images making them feel really special.
Sarah Goy travels extensively in the Middle East and North Africa and her work is full of the wonder of her travels from the bright and colourful oil paintings full of life to her delicate and beautifully drawn watercolours gathered from the many sketchbooks she brings back from her travels.
Lisa Lewis has brought together a stunning body of new work to the show exploring the abstract side of her creative practise. Referencing the Jurassic coastline her work is sensitive, expresive and tactile.
My own work includes paintings in the ongoing Travelling Light series and new printmaking work icluding seascape linocuts and delicate drypoint etchings of travels around North Dorset. Take yourselves along there and make all our hard work worthwhile.
